In Writing, the workshop model is followed. A mini-lesson is taught and students apply the strategy that is taught when they write independently. The teacher conferences with students to assess their strengths and skills they need to work on. At the end of class, students share their writing with their peers. Students will build writing stamina over the course of the year and become used to the writing process of planning, writing, editing, and publishing.
